A Bit of History The Wingham Town Hall was built in 1890. The following year the auditorium was completed and became known throughout Ontario as one of the finest Opera Houses to the patrons and performers of that day. Throughout the years, there have been many different genres of performing artists at the theatre. In keeping with the country theme of the Wingham area, in 1990 an energetic group started the "Prime Time Country Shows." Realizing that the Town Hall Building was a heritage building, they decided to rename the theatre, The Wingham Town Hall Heritage Theatre. (now known as The Wingham Theatre) The Wingham Theatre (formerly known as Wingham Town Hall heritage Theatre) is host to well known and young professional acts. Our mandate and goal is to expand our professional entertainment base for your enjoyment by bringing different genres of music to our community.
Website generously sponsored by: The Box Office for the Theatre is now located at 290 Josephine Street.
